LIVING IN THE MOMENT
In a culture today full of business meetings and chaotic schedules life has became busy! Often we find ourself doing whatever we have to do to do what is next. Rarely is it seen now that what we are doing now is the most important thing but rather what is next. I feel God is calling to a generation of people to step back into the moment!
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Matthew 6:33-34 NLT
Matthew 6:33-34 NLT
Just this past summer this passage held dearly to my heart. In all things I did I would continue to come back in reference to Matthew 6:33-34. It has became so easy for us as a generation to focus and dwell on things that are unknown and strive to achieve what needs to be accomplished. Although there is a need to be diligent with our time and make sure we are being effective, most of us have seemed to lose track of stewarding the current moment.
If you have spent much time with me you will often here me say that this moment right now is the most important moment of your life. Whatever it is that your doing this is the true moment where authority and power has been given to us from our king. It’s in this moment we can change the world. It’s in this moment God is wanting to co labor with us. It’s in this moment that we can move beyond a casual conversation to a conversation that is beyond intentional, fully in tuned to what is being transferred.
Co labor
When we step into a moment and be fully present we move into a moment of opportunity to co labor with the Holy Spirit. Now I’m not saying that the Holy Spirit is not at work always but what I am saying is that when we move into a moment focused on lord what are you doing, we step into a moment where it no long becomes just about our immediate reach but his immediate reach! I believe it’s in these moments of seeking the kingdom first that the lord often moves us from casual encounter to radical encounter.
In the week ahead I would just like to encourage everyone to be intentional with our time. Let’s change our mindset and lifestyle from what’s next to what’s now! I believe as we grow more in-tune to what the lord is doing now and focus less on what could happen to what is happening we move our mindset from fear to hope. It’s in this hope that we have such a blessing!!
